Sarah School update

It has been a while since my last post - reason - busy life. Not much of an excuse, I know!

So what has been going on....

Well Sarah has started her new school.  After 3.5 years of struggling to find any joy at school, we finally made the decision to change Sarah's school.  A term off from her old school and surgery on her big toes, during that time; made her first day a very big challenge.

She came home on day one and shared the news that the school was weird - my heart sank, until she shared that it was so weird because the 15 & 16 year old kids were nice and friendly to each other. It was both a sad and happy moment. Sarah has discovered that there are great kids that will be really nice to you at school.  Unfortunately, she is sick at home yesterday and today with a horrible head cold, but hopefully will be back at school again soon.

It's so important that kids like their school. That means teachers, other kids and program. I know I taught for 37 years. Kids can easily be devastated by some of these things missing.

Red, you are so right - Sarah is a bright, intelligent girl who has been so unhappy at school, that she was ready to leave and get a job. Now we have some hope that she will get a great education.
